This is an amazing two-legged calf born in China., named "wool." Wool is walking on it's front legs and reminds me somewhat of an ostrich or emu. It always blows me away how animals never give up in the face of overwhelming adversity. Animals fight until the very end, no matter what. It does not even occur to them to give up and die.
New York (CNN) -- Long Island may be far from the Death Star, but that didn't stop Darth Vader from paying a less-than-friendly visit to a bank in East Setauket, New York.
Or at least he looked like Darth Vader, except for the camouflage pants.
The costumed man, with a mask and cape, entered a Chase bank Thursday morning and demanded cash. Although he didn't have a lightsaber, his gun was more than enough to persuade the teller to hand over the money.
The caped criminal then fled east through the bank's parking lot.
Suffolk County police said they are searching for the man, described as around 6 feet tall.
Guess the recession has hit the Empire pretty hard. The Death Star must not have been insured.
Another weird looking dead animal thing has washed up on a beach in Ontario. This one sort of looks like the Montauk Monster, but with hair. Or it's a weasel.
Photographs of a strange-looking creature discovered in a remote Northern Ontario aboriginal community are creating a raging Internet debate.
The photos show a brown furry animal with a bald white face and large teeth.
The unsightly critter was spotted in Big Trout Lake by two nurses walking their dog earlier this month. The animal is about 30 centimetres long and has a rat-like tail with “almost a human face,” says the community’s website.
Some residents of Big Trout Lake, an Oji-Cree community of 1,200 south of Hudson Bay, believe the animal is a rare local creature known as an omajinaakoos, which roughly translates to “ugly one”. Band councillor Darryl Sainnawap said his great uncle spotted one about 50 years ago.
Two bank robbery suspects, including one dressed in a green leprechaun costume, were shot dead after a St. Patrick's Day chase and shootout with police in Tennessee, authorities said.
First State Bank in the Nashville suburb of Gallatin was held up by a man who wore a green costume and carried a large-caliber gun at 12:28 p.m. Wednesday, said Sgt. Bill Storment, a spokesman for the Gallatin Police Department.
Sharon Riehemann (REE'-muhn), manager of the Fifth Third Bank next door, said the costumed man - wearing a green top hat, vest and shorts and a fake brown beard and wig - had come into her bank a few minutes before the robbery. The lobby was crowded with lunchtime customers.
I guess Lucky must've been pretty hard up for cash there after the kids finally stole all his Lucky Charms.
And of course, no St. Patrick's day would be complete without at least one view of the classic "Gimme da gold!" rap video:
