Universal Monster's WOLFMAN from NECA

Hello folks! My latest toy unboxing is the Wolfman from Neca, just in time for Halloween. This is a seven inch tall "color version," and depicts Lon Chaney as the iconic character. This is party of Neca's "Ultimate" line which also includes the Universal Monsters versions of Frankenstein, the Mummy, as well as modern horror movie icons such as Michael Myers, Freddy Kruger, Jason Vorhees, and others. An excellent and highly detailed figure, and already starting to be hard to find.

Masters of the Universe Origins Battle Cat unboxing and reivew

So you've all probably figured out by this point that I'm a massively huge gigantic fan of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. We seem to be going through a He-Man renaissance nowadays, what with the Masterverse toyline, the Revelations show, the WWE Universe toys, and also the new Netflix He-Man CG show. Still my favorite of all of these is still the Origins line. These are just like the toys I had when I was ten years old but better in almost every way.

Battlecat is the first mount thusfar for Origins, and it's almost perfect. The plastic feels good, the sculpt looks great. It's slightly taller and bulkier than the vintage figure, but this seems to be mostly due to the stance the toy has. The only thing which would have made this better would be to give it ankle articulation. Besides this the figure is nearly perfect.

Skeletor Masters of the Universe Origins Unboxing and Review

Hello folks! Today we're taking a look at Skeletor from the Masters of the Universe Origins line. These are remakes of the classic He-Man toys from the 80's. They are kind of the best things ever. I really like the styling and articulation. They look almost like something off the shelf from Toys R Us in 1985, but with modern articulation. The only thing I could possibly have a problem with this figure is to say it would've been great if they made it so the mouth could open and close. Besides that this figure is perfect.

Horror Madballs Series 2 Unboxing & Review

Hello folks! Today we're taking a look at series 2 Horror Madballs from Kid Robot. Included is Pinhead, Pennywise, Chucky, and The Fiend (from the Misfits.) Madballs are my favorite retro toy to collect second only to Masters of the Universe. I know there's a series of Horror Madballs Keychains coming from Kid Robot as a follow up to these, which will also include characters such as Gizmo, Spike (from Gremlins,) Tiffany from Bride of Chucky, and some others. Here's hoping they include these guys in proper Madball form for series 3.

Zoloworld Legends of Darkness Vampire and Death Unboxing and Review

Hello everyone! This week we're looking at the Vampire and Death 5.5 MOTU style action figures, from Zoloworld's "Legends of Darkness" line. These are modern mass produced figures for the adult collector made in a vintage style, as homages to Remco's classic lines such as Warrior Beasts. These in particular are homages to the obscure "Speclatron" line which nowadays go for thousands of dollars.

When I say that I'm not kidding. Go to Ebay and look up "Speclatron" and you'll see the ridiculous prices the vintage figures sell for. These are a much more affordable alternative, and are worth owning in their own right.

Toxic Crusaders "Ultimate Toxie" Figure from Super 7 Unboxing and Review

Hello folks. Today we're checking out Toxie, from Super 7's Ultimates line. These figures are made with the same basic body and articulation that Masters of the Universe Classics had, and fit right in with them on the shelf. The Toxic Avenger is my number one favorite  movie of all time, so happy to get a high quality figure of him.

I've actually met Lloyd Kaufman (the director of the Toxic Avenger) a couple of times at different comic conventions, he is the coolest guy ever. About ten years ago I saw him at the San Diego Comic con and managed to strike up a conversation. When I mentioned that I was an aspiring comic creator he immediately offered to let me use the Toxic Avenger in my webcomic. This guy who has a multi-million dollar property immediately offers to help out a virtual unknown, simply because he wants to encourage fans to create. Suffice to say I haven't taken him up on the offer (mainly because I never really came up with a story I think would be worthy of the character.) Maybe one of these days if my comic ever gets a following and I write something good enough I'll approach Troma with a formal proposal. Nevertheless, I thought the gesture was supremely cool, and it firmly lodged Mr.Kaufman as one of my lifelong idols.

Anyway, the figure is based on the Toxic Crusaders version of the character. Like all Super 7 Ultimates it uses the MOTU classics body type and articulation. Sometimes Super 7 has quality control issues with these figures, happy to say my particular example didn't have any problems, with the possible exception of semi-loose feeling bicep joints, but it was nothing that would be an issue. I'm very happy with this figure, here's hoping they make more of the Toxic Avenger/Crusaders figures. How about a figure of Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD?

Troll Force "Machine Man" MOTU Knock-Off Unboxing and Restoration

Hello folks! So I got my mitts on a "Machine Man" figure from the Troll Force action figure line (we looked at the "Green Yuk" and "Black Ninja" from this line in a previous video.) Troll Force was a knock-off of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Specifically, it uses parts from a different knock-off line called "Galaxy Warriors," (so this is a knock-off of a knock-off.) So we'll do an unboxing and a little bit of restoration on this one as the hair is completely shot. I'm not really too much into collecting knock-off/bootleg figures like this, but they can be pretty cool sometimes.

MOTU Knock-Offs Galaxy Heroes & Troll Force Unboxing and Review

Hello everyone. So the Masters of the Universe were a very successful toyline back in the day. You can't have a toyline that makes a lot of money without getting a lot of imitators. One of the most extensive of the MOTU knock offs was a line called "Galaxy Warriors." The thing about Galaxy Warriors was that the parts (arms, legs, heads, weapons, etc) were continuously recasted and reused in other knock off lines. So the two toys we're looking at today are knock-offs of Galaxy Warriors, called "Galaxy Heroes" and "Troll Warriors." Hence, they are knock-offs of a knock-off. Dontcha love this stuff?

Anyway, we're looking at "Triton" from the Galaxy Heroes line, and "The Green Yuk" and "Black Ninja" from the Troll Warriors line.

Enjoy!

Masters of the WWE Universe Wave 2 Unboxing and Review

Hello everyone! Hope you're all doing well out there as the world slowly comes to an end. So I finally got my hands on the entire wave 2 of Masters of the WWE Universe figures. Included is Rey Mysterio, Faker John Cena, Macho Man Randy Savage, and Roman Reigns. I think I actually like these better than the Wave 1 figures, in particular Rey Mysterio and Randy Savage are awesome. They work really well and pay homage to the classic He-Man toys. If you're into this kind of thing pick them  up as fast as you can as they're already pretty much gone from stores, and are starting to go up on the secondary market.

Masters of the WWE Universe Unboxing and Review

Hello everyone, for you fans of WWE wrestling or Masters of the Universe, here is my review of the Masters of the WWE Universe 5.5 inch figures. These are a pretty cool mashup of wrestling and MOTU. I'm a massively huge fan of Masters of the Universe (not so much wrestling, but I can appreciate it.) Apparently these are a sort of test run for the MOTU origins figures that are going to be released later this year. Anyway these took a bit by surprise as I had no idea these were even a thing. The figures look great, balance well, and a filled with little homages and callbacks to the vintage He-man figures I grew up with. If you're into this sort of thing I recommend picking them up now, as their value is already starting to go up on the secondary market.

Masters of the Universe Classics Slush Head Unboxing and Review

Hello everyone. So as anyone who reads my blogs or watches my videos should know by now, I am a massively huge super gigantic fan of Masters of the Universe. As a kid I had almost all of them, including several of the rare ones - The Sorceress, Scare Glow, the Eternia Towers, the works. So it came to great surprise to me to find Mattel released updated versions of the original toys. The cool thing about MOTU Classics is that the line also included characters from She-Ra Princess of Power, as well as the New Adventures of He-Man, which is where Slush Head is from.

So anyway, I got into this line a little late in the game, which means I now get to buy all of these at super inflated collectors prices. So I've made it a point to not go crazy buying every single one of these, instead focusing only on key characters that I really want.

Which brings us to Slush Head. I was already getting a bit too old for toys when New Adventures came out (or so I thought...) I do remember the show and I thought it was pretty good, but by this point I  was already in middle school and wasn't playing with toys anymore, so I'm looking at these characters with unbiased eyes. The figure itself looks good and has great detail. We lose articulation at the head and waist, but all the other standard points are there. One thing I'm disappointed with is the metal tentacles, which are not bendable and attach in a flimsy way. It would have been much better to have these be of the rubber "bendie" type with a wire inside.

Overall I'm pretty satisfied with this figure, it looks great on the shelf and fits in with the other classics figures well. Expect to see more of these reviews as I build up a large collection of these.

Thundercats Savage World Series 2 Unboxing and Review Funko

Hello everyone. For this video we're taking a look at Series #2 of the Thundercats Savage World figures, featuring Tygra, Monkian, Jackalman, and Cheetara (which is the one everyone wanted.) Included are some comparisons with the series 1 figures. I'm happy to say they turned out really well, and look great on the shelf next to my MOTU toys.

For those who have been keeping up, we've gotten the following in the line, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Thundercats Series #1 and #2, Horror Figures, as well as the tangentially related Son of Zorn and DC comics "Primal Age" lines. There was also supposed to be a Conan the Barbarian line which looks to be cancelled, which probably happened when Marvel bought back the Conan rights.

Sadly this looks like the end of the "Savage World" line for the time being, there doesn't look to be anything new happening for the rest of 2020, which is really sad considering there's at least another 30 or so Thundercats characters alone they could do (not to mention the other franchises.) Here's hoping that the line gets resurrected next year, I would love to see more of these one day.

Marvel Legends 80th Anv. Hulk vs. Wolverine 2-Pack Unboxing and Review - UCD Videos

So I got this one for Christmas and I've been hanging onto it until I had time to make an unboxing video. The main reason I wanted this one is for the Hulk, which is done is the style of Sal Buscema, who was the artist on the Hulk for over a decade (and still the best imo.) The head sculpt is spot on. There haven't been very many comic accurate figures of the Hulk recently, most of them are patterned after the movies. Which is great and everything, but they look like Mark Ruffalo. I don't want Mark Ruffalo on my shelf, I want the Hulk.

Anyway, this set is already starting to go up in price, so grab it while you can.

Super 7 MOTU Filmation Action Figures - Review and Unboxing

Hello everyone. I am a massive fan of Masters of the Universe, have been ever since I was a kid. I used to have ALL of them, even the rare ones - Scareglow, the Sorceress, King Randor, the Eternia Towers, all of them. So it was with a great amount of personal joy when the franchise enjoyed a bit of a resurgence in recent years, with the Masters of the Universe Classics series first released by Mattel, and then later Super 7.
Towards the end of their tenure with the license Super 7 put out a series of 5.5 inch toys using the vintage style, but as the characters were represented in the Filmation cartoon. I did a video last years showing He-Man, Skeletor, Hordak, and She-Ra from the line, so here are the remaining characters. I'm kinda sad to know that this is it for the Filmation line, however it's great to know that Mattel has some new figures coming later in the year.
