Backlash against the Westboro Baptist church in OK

Via joemygod.blogsot.com:

http://joemygod.blogspot.com/2010/11/oklahoma-westboro-church-gets-tires.html

Members of Westboro Baptist Church returned to their minivan to find its tires slashed after their picket of the funeral of a McAlester, Oklahoma soldier. And every shop in town refused to make any repairs.
Can't say I feel too bad for these people. Maybe if this happened every place they go they'd finally grow a brain and we'd stop hearing about these zeroes.

A related video of a restaurant that put up a sign stating the Westboro Baptist Church is not welcome:

Cthulhu Mythos scrolls - more stuff I made

Hello folks! Welcome to another edition of "Stuff That I made." Here we have some scroll-props featuring characters from H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos. I recently showed these at the Long Beach Comic Con and got a lot of positive feedback (as well as sales!) The top scroll is the "Litany of Dagon," featuring the father deity of the Deep Ones. The bottom is the "Codex Tsathoggua," showing the slothful fur covered bat-toad god being attended by his servitor ghouls.

These are printed on heavy cardstock, then several different methods are used to artificially age them - watercolor, acrylic, coffee grounds, soil, tea bags, bleach, etc. After it's aged it's given a coat of Modge Podge to protect it. The result looks a lot like it was drawn on old tanned seal hide with squid ink and sealed in a cave for a thousand years. More than one person came up and asked if they were done on real leather. Besides cleaning up around the edges there are no further digital enhancements to these images.

I am currently selling these on Esty for $9.99 if anyone wants one:

The Litany of Dagon

The Codex Tsathoggua

Enjoy!

Distrubing Japanese Robot

What we have here is a robot made in a joint venture between the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute and Osaka University. The goal is to develop a robot that reproduces the basic gestures and expressions of a remote user.

Instead, they've created a freakish spooky ghost-like limbless parapelegic sperm-bot. Seriously Japan, what the hell is this thing?

Amazing 2-legged calf born in China

Via AOL.

This is an amazing two-legged calf born in China., named "wool." Wool is walking on it's front legs and reminds me somewhat of an ostrich or emu. It always blows me away how animals never give up in the face of overwhelming adversity. Animals fight until the very end, no matter what. It does not even occur to them to give up and die.

Darth Vader holds up Bank

From CNN:

New York (CNN) -- Long Island may be far from the Death Star, but that didn't stop Darth Vader from paying a less-than-friendly visit to a bank in East Setauket, New York.

Or at least he looked like Darth Vader, except for the camouflage pants.

The costumed man, with a mask and cape, entered a Chase bank Thursday morning and demanded cash. Although he didn't have a lightsaber, his gun was more than enough to persuade the teller to hand over the money.

The caped criminal then fled east through the bank's parking lot.

Suffolk County police said they are searching for the man, described as around 6 feet tall.

Guess the recession has hit the Empire pretty hard. The Death Star must not have been insured.
